Earth Day 2026: Powering Climate Action with Ecologi

Earth Day 2026 is a moment to reflect on our progress, celebrate our long-standing partnership with Ecologi and recognise the impact we’ve made on our climate action journey for people and the planet.

Partnering for cliamte action

Our partnership with Ecologi is an important part of our climate journey. Ecologi is a social enterprise and certified B Corporation that enables organisations to fund verified carbon reduction, reforestation, and restoration projects worldwide.

We partnered with Ecologi because addressing climate change requires more than intention; it requires consistent, accountable action. Through the platform, we support high-quality global reforestation projects, fund verified carbon avoidance and removal initiatives and transparently track and report our climate impact. It also provides a way to engage customers and colleagues in practical, meaningful climate action.

This approach helps us embeds climate responsibility into everyday business decisions, making sustainability part of how we operate.

Where our support is making a difference

Through Ecologi, we’ve backed a diverse range of climate and nature-based projects around the world, helping deliver both environmental and social benefits.

In Paraguay, we’ve contributed to REDD+ forest protection initiatives that help reduce deforestation, cut emissions, and support more sustainable land management. We’ve also supported blue carbon projects in Pakistan that are restoring coastal ecosystems, which are vital for carbon storage and climate resilience.

We’ve also funded initiatives closer to home in the UK, including habitat restoration projects such as wildflower meadow and wetland restoration, helping to support biodiversity recovery.

Many of the initiatives we fund help create local employment opportunities and provide training in sustainable land management and conservation practices. Others deliver essential infrastructure improvements that directly improve quality of life.

Growing forests together

We’re passionate about restoring nature and tree planting plays an important role in that journey. We support global reforestation projects that help restore degraded land and rebuild biodiversity-rich habitats in countries such as Kenya, Madagascar, and Ethiopia.

We plant trees for every renewable energy business customer and also run additional initiatives that colleagues and partners get involved in, helping to broaden engagement and increase our overall impact.

As a result, trees are planted through Ecologi’s reforestation projects, supporting the long-term recovery of ecosystems and local environments.

From commitment to measurable impact

Since launching our partnership with Ecologi in September 2023, we have made measurable progress in our climate journey. To date, we have planted 84,319 trees, helped prevent 480.93 tonnes of CO₂e emissions, and removed a further 27 tonnes of CO₂e from the atmosphere. In addition, 44.44m² of habitat has been restored, contributing to healthier ecosystems and improved biodiversity.
